Everybody Was Puzzled!

Um um, everybody was puzzled. Completely brain washed about the Scholarly Habits this morning. What we had to do was say a scholarly habit that we have used during the past week. Since we were so brain-washed, and couldn't really remember any of the habits, Katie said that we have to name all the scholarly habits by the end of the day. Luckily we had a session about scholarly habits with Nicola. We watched a one news video clip interviewing Lorde's music teacher. We had to tick all the scholarly habits that Lorde uses. In the end we ticked all the boxes. A big one that she used was Academic Humility. For example,  when she found out she was going to the Grammies she didn't rub it in other peoples faces. Then we had to tick the ones that we use regularly and write down an example of us using it. All the ones that we don't use, we just put them on a wee sticky tab and put in our book and look back later in the year.

When you are nervous, what do you do?

When you are nervous what do you do? 

Today we had to write down ten questions and interview a class mate for them to answer. It was all about open and closed questions. For example, a closed question would be a yes or no answer and a open question would be a full sentence answer. My class mate was Thomas. After that we had to open up pages and write the questions we asked and the answer they said. We used a head set so everyone didn't have to listen to there interview over and over again. 

A couple of questions I asked were...

First blog for 2014!

Hello

This is the first blog for 2014! There is a new teacher this year and his name is Paul. Today I had Paul as my teacher in three sessions. They were; the invention key, tangrams and what is giftedness? 
My favorite session was what is giftedness so I will tell you about that. What we had to do was for each statement go to the place that we think showed if the person was gifted or not. There were three places on the continuum: not gifted, sort of gifted and definitely gifted. My passion project this year is going to be stone calving. This year my goal is to stay at the same task and finish that task.

Feeling So Relieved!

Hello! 
Today at Enrich we have completed a lot of Affective study. So far three people have done Steve Irwin who is a animal lover. People have been doing their Affective study on Powerpoint, Prezi and Keynote. I did my presentation on Powerpoint.

Art Today!
Today I have finished my first layer on my orange Fox lino print. Next I need to carve all the parts that I want to stay orange. The next colours I am going to use are brown green and blue. That means I am going to do a quadruple coloured print. That's going to look cool.

Affective Study

Today so far we have had the last day of working on are affective study. Luckily I have finished just in time. I have done my affective study in power point. The reason why I am doing power point is because I have taken a class to learn cool animations and work most of the features of the programme.

Lino print

Also today I did a wee bit on my lino print. Just to remind you it is a picture of a fox slash beever kind of thing.  Anyway I have done a few test prints and some of them were put into my good pile. First it was a bit shady. Second it was a little bit over painted and then it was pretty much perfect. The colour of my print is orange. My second colour will probably be brown.

Today we had an affective Digital Citizenship Teacher led workshop. Mostly it was a big talk about keeping yourself safe on the internet by not putting things on that are offensive to others or personal information. Sights that I'm talking about are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and loads more.

Today I started a new print because my old one went missing. It is a picture of a beaver or a squirrel. I don't know. Today I made my carving and having one test print. I thought it was pretty good for the first time.

Affective study

Today I have made huge progress with my affective study. I am now on to publishing. I am thinking about doing my study on power point. Today I have completed my three habits of mind which are striving for accuracy, persisting, taking responsible risks, thinking and communicating with clarity and precision and my Renzullis model of giftedness. They are creativity, above average ability and task commitment.

Today in word art we worked in the little room. I did a little crossword since I wasn't here last week and I wouldn't get it done in time.
